Funding and Benefits

  • Students in the Program receive a full tuition waiver, which is not dependent on having a GA appointment
  • Although additional funding is not guaranteed, virtually all students have successfully secured funding for the full duration of their studies for the past 30+ years. As of 2025, the School of Education and Human Development’s stipend is $32,000 for a 20-hr, 9-month appointment. This stipend is reviewed and adjusted periodically to reflect inflation and increased living costs.
  • Students receive funding through various types of Graduate Assistantships (GAs). Common roles include assisting faculty with their research, providing teaching support, and performing administrative duties.
  • A 20-hr GA appointment includes a 100% health insurance subsidy (currently $4,100).
